John Bowman directs strategic resources globally for General Mills, one of the leading clients at Saatchi & Saatchi, and leads a team charged with building the future of brands that create loyalty beyond reason.
Combining cultural foresight with consumer insight, Bowman’s mission is to inspire potent marketing communication ideas for a portfolio of famous household brands including Cheerios, Wheaties, Pillsbury, Progresso, Yoplait, Green Giant, Trix and Lucky Charms. Bowman also consults on strategic planning leadership initiatives for P&G and JC Penney.
A graduate of Rutgers University, Bowman started his career in media and account management, moved on to become an award-winning copywriter and then grew his expertise in strategic planning. With over two decades of experience, Bowman has built brand success for many major clients, including AT&T, Citibank, Continental Airlines, DuPont, Debeers, Gillette, General Motors, Procter & Gamble, and the US Army and has won recognition from numerous industry organizations.
At home with family in Connecticut, Bowman supports his community and church on the Leadership Board of First Baptist Church of Fairfield and shares his knowledge about advertising with the educational community in his role as a Director of the Advertising Education Foundation. He also serves on the Steering Committee of the Advertising Research Foundation as well as a Finals Judge for the annual EFFIE Awards. In his free time, Bowman enjoys singing, playing guitar -- and on breezy summer weekends, sailing.
